Position Title:  Day Camp Counselor

Location:         Camp Echo (Boise, ID)

Salary Range:  $95 to $105 per day DOE

Dates:             May 27 to August 8, 2025*

As a Day Camp Counselor at Camp Echo, you will be part of a supportive team to and ensure a safe, inclusive environment where every girl can enjoy an unforgettable camp experience. You'll actively participate in, teach, and assist campers with with their activities and programs. Situated just outside downtown Boise, Camp Echo is a hub of fun and adventure. With foothill walking trails right outside our door, expansive green spaces for field games and water play, and visits from a variety of community partners, there's something for every girl to enjoy. Weekly activities include hiking, tie-dye, campfire treats, singing songs and building sisterhood. Each week has a different theme for girls to try new skills, make new friends and create memories for a lifetime. Camp Echo holds a current American Camp Association accreditation. Responsibilities:

  • With co-counselors, oversee a group of up to 24 campers, ages 5 to 17, split into activity groups by Girl Scout grade levels
  • Teach and lead camp program including Girl Scout badges, hiking, biking, arts and crafts, teambuilding activities, service projects, STEM, group games and field trips
  • Participate with campers during all camp activities
  • Provide camper supervision at all times including during activities, transitions, pick-up and drop-off
  • Set up and take down camp activities and stations daily.
  • Participate in a daily morning staff meeting and daily afternoon debrief.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with families and visitors
  • Complete daily sanitation practices including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, disinfecting all toys, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school (or the equivalent)
  • First Aid and CPR certifications, or able to acquire 
  • Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to and from Camp Echo daily
  • Be comfortable riding a bike
  • Availability is required Monday through Friday during camp hours, from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM (flexibility within these hours may be possible; please discuss during the interview). Additionally, staff are asked to stay until 5:00 PM one day each week for aftercare supervision and in-service staff training.
  • Must have experience working with children

  • Mentoring and support from camp leadership staff
  • Additional materials and resources needed to fulfill daily job duties
