Position Title:  Day Camp Counselor
Location:         Camp Echo- Boise, ID
Salary Range: $85 to $105 per day DOE
Dates:             May 28 to August 9, 2024*

Position Summary:
The best, most fun, challenging job you will ever love. As a Day Camp Counselor, you will nurture, interact, support, and create a safe and inclusive environment in which all campers will have a fun-filled, exciting camp experience. With your co-counselors, you will oversee campers in their units and supervise all aspects of the camper’s day and week. Activities include arts and crafts, hiking, biking, water play, making campfire treats plus more!

This position does not include room and board.

Responsibilities:
  • With co-counselors, oversee and engage camper units, aged 5 to 11, split into activity groups by Girl Scout grade levels
  • Teach and lead camp programs including Girl Scout badges, hiking in the foothills, mountain biking, biking on the Greenbelt, arts and crafts, teambuilding activities, STEM, group games, and chaperone field trips.
  • Participate with campers during all camp activities and programs.
  • Provide camper supervision at all times including during activities, transitions, pick-up and drop-off
  • Set up and take down camp activities and stations daily.
  • Participate in a daily morning staff meeting and daily afternoon debrief.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with families and visitors
  • Complete daily sanitation practices including cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, disinfecting all toys, and cleaning bathrooms
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills/ Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated high school (or the equivalent)
  • First Aid and CPR certifications, trainings are available through our Council
  • Must be able to provide own reliable transportation to and from Camp Echo daily.
  • Be comfortable riding a bike.
  • Must be available Monday through Friday during camp operations, 8:00 am-3:30 pm (flexibility within these hours is possible, please inquire during the interview process); Camp aftercare positions run from 12:00 pm- 5:45 pm
