Salary Range:  $120+ per day DOE   

Dates:  June 18th to August 10th, 2025

Position Summary:

The best, most fun, challenging job you will ever love. As the MESH Specialist at Camp Alice Pittenger, you will administer oversight for the mental, emotional, and social health care needs for our summer camp program.

Using guidance from the CDC, American Camp Association, Girl Scouts of the USA and local health districts we are taking every precaution, including property improvements and updated sanitation procedures, to keep everyone healthy and safe. We are looking for passionate camp staff who committed to the safety of our camp staff and girls and who can adhere to our strict health and safety protocols.  

Responsibilities:

  • Playing a leadership role in the planning and implementation of staff training and ongoing staff learning related to mental, emotional, and social health.
  • With the Camp Director and Health Care Specialist make key decisions about camp including responding to any emergencies or crises.
  • Serving as a resource to campers and staff throughout the summer in facing mental, emotional and social health challenges, and creating environments where campers and staff can thrive.
  • With the Health Specialist manage information about camper needs, and communicating those to staff, as well as documenting communication and plans as appropriate.
  • Provide counseling and interventions to campers and staff, as appropriate.
  • Be an active presence on-site at camp as a part of the community.
  • Maintain medical records including medications given to campers and first aid care given.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding camper mental, emotional, and social health issues as appropriate.
  • Complete appropriate incident reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/ Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a mental health or social services; masters preferred.
  • Ability to administer medications preferred.
  • Responsible and dependable.
  • Enjoys working with children.
  • Must feel comfortable living in a rustic camp environment with limited access to cell phone service and internet.
  • Experience with the Girl Scout program is preferred.
  • Willing to work long hours.
  • Works well independently and asks for assistance when needed.
  • Is a dynamic leader.
